Itinera and Halmar continue to strengthen their foothold nationally

Itinera Infrastructure & Concessions (Itinera) has successfully shortlisted on its first two submissions for P3 projects: the Maryland Capital Beltway Phase I and the Georgia SR400. Both projects are part of a pipeline of developments planned in these regions and fall in line with the global growth strategy of Itinera’s parent company, ASTM.

Since launching its operation in North America last year, Itinera has been aggressively positioning and pursuing solicited and unsolicited transportation projects across the country with its affiliated construction company, Halmar International (Halmar). To this end, both companies have strengthened their staying power in this industry with another round of all-star hires:

Ms. Connie Crawford joins Itinera Infrastructure & Concessions (Itinera) as Director of Transit. She brings almost 40 years’ experience and will be focused on providing direction and oversight for the technical performance across the rail/transit service practices. Throughout her career, Ms. Crawford has demonstrated excellence in her experience with public and private sectors in the management, design, and construction of large-scale transportation programs, earning a national reputation as a leader in the engineering community. Prior to joining the Itinera team, she worked at WSP (formerly Louis Berger) and served as Senior VP and Chief Engineer at NYCT. She spent four years managing mega transit projects in the Middle East and served as chief engineer for the Baltimore-Washington Maglev Train project. She is based in Baltimore, MD.

Mr. Sal Taddeo joins Halmar International as EVP Southeast Region. He has 30 years’ experience in the construction industry successfully leading growing businesses and delivering many alternative delivery projects including large P3’s and design-build transportation projects. Sal was the lead JV partner executive which delivered the successful $1.5bn Elizabeth River Tunnels P3 project in Norfolk Virginia. In the last decade he was responsible for the delivery of several large and complex design build transportation projects throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, and prior to that he executed numerous design build transit related projects in the Northeastern region of the US with great success. Over the course of his career Mr. Taddeo has earned the respect of his clients, partners and peers, for his affection to building high performing teams, deploying true integrated project delivery, strategic planning and partnering.

Mr. Joe Iniguez joins Halmar International as the Director of Business Development for the Southeastern, Gulf Coast and Western US. He brings 30 years of experience in the pursuit, design and construction operations of multiple markets including Aviation, DOT, Transit, and Defense including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command. He has extensive experience in Alternative Delivery Methods including: P3, Design-Build and CMGC. Prior to joining Halmar, he performed similar roles for Skanska USA Civil, Flatiron Constructors, and Kiewit Infrastructure. He will be based in Dallas, TX with a strategic geographical presence to take advantage of large transit program planned in the States of Texas, Georgia, and specific projects in Southern California.
